"I originally came to know of Anthony Lauro’s talents some years ago through the fantastic murals that he had painted for a clients “garage”, actually an old tobacco warehouse, well known to Ferrari enthusiasts in Florida and beyond. The period feel that he produced was a perfect complement to the classic cars in the owner’s collection, and my initial reaction was “Wow, this guy has talent”. This feeling was reinforced when I heard that he was getting into automotive sculpture, and was taking lessons in woodwork, welding and metal craft, to achieve his objectives of producing works that combined these two mediums. The lessons paid dividends, as I subsequently visited his studio whilst he was shaping his first sculpture, then unnamed, but since titled “Heritage of Speed”, which features the legendary pontoon fender Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, and was amazed by his dexterity with the materials to produce what promised to be a truly exciting piece of art.
This promise was born out when I saw the finished work displayed at the Cavallino Classic in 2009, the scale and form conveyed everything that the original artisan craftsmen at Scaglietti had produced with the real car, but you could also see within and get a feel for the complexities of the structure, coupled with a real sense of speed from its setting. From conversations with him, it is clear that his work is a true labour of love, and he possesses an extraordinary feel for the subject, immersing himself into each new project fully, until it comes to fruition. He only ever produces one example of any work, and always seems loathe to move it on, almost as though he was selling part of himself, which in a way he is, with the thousands of hours spent in the creation, but move on they must, to finance the next project. A true artist in every sense of the word."

"The Automotive Art of Anthony Lauro.
Like a classical musician who can both write and perform his own music, Anthony Lauro is a renaissance craftsman who orchestrates wood, metal, and paint in such an imaginative way that we hear and feel the raucous exhaust notes without leaving the comfort of our automobilia collection.
The masterpieces of the golden age of Ferrari,Maserati, Bugatti, and Alfa Romeo are carefully and creatively hand crafted by Anthony to evoke speed, sound, and passion. The beautifully formed and artistically incorporated wood bucks readily transport us back to the era of cars built by men instead of robots.
Inherently valuable and instantly collectible, the creations of Anthony Lauro are responsible and rewarding investments for the serious automobile collector.
